MobiLAB™

Accompanied by a full-time, experienced and client-friendly technician, our two
usability lab offerings: MobiLAB™ and MobiLAB™ PC allow researchers to clearly
observe and evaluate the testing of any type of interactive product during the
qualitative market research testing process. Facial reactions, hand/eye movements
and body language are combined electronically with images of the product being
tested and are displayed in a picture-in-picture format, providing simultaneous
observation and feedback of the product/participant interaction. MobiLAB™ is
a very flexible system that can be customized to meet client preferences and the
specific needs of a study. Ideal for testing websites, hand-held devices, kiosks,
interactive software, etc. MobiLAB™ can support any testing scenario including
IDIs, dyads, mini groups, and full focus groups.

       

MobiLAB™ Includes:

  • Two remotely controlled cameras that can be placed anywhere in a room

  • Direct inputs from a respondent’s PC at full VGA resolution

  • Digital switching equipment to provide picture-in-picture display

  • 32” LCD monitor in the client viewing room

  • DVD recording of all the sessions

Does not include a PC for the respondent room.


MobiLAB PC™

MobiLAB PC is a PC based usability lab that is designed specifically
to support the testing of websites and software related products. 
Utilizing Morae™ screen capture software, it allows clients to clearly
observe and evaluate user testing. MobiLAB PC is always accompanied
by an experienced full-time technician and can easily support multiple
testing scenarios including IDI’s, mini groups and full focus groups with
up to eight users. 

MobiLAB™ PC Includes:

  • Full-time onsite technician for system set up and operation

  • PC in the respondent room with redundant keyboard and mouse
    controls for easy moderator access

  • Morae™ screen capture software and a webcam camera to provide
    picture-in-picture display (PIP) and recording of respondent’s screen
    activity and facial reactions

  • Two 20” LCD monitors in the client viewing room to display the PIP

  • Real-time “video marking” of points of interest

  • DVD recording of all sessions in PIP format as Windows Media files

  • DVD recording of all sessions in PIP format as Morae RDG files

MobiLAB Online™

MobiLAB Online™ is an online solution for conducting one-on-one usability interviews remotely from the comfort of the home or office. This technology provided by Interactive Video Productions, offers face-to-face interaction with respondents using audio and video together with the ability to share desktops for real-time observation and collaboration.

Respondent preparation

Prior to your study, IVP will check that participants are properly equipped and prepared for their online experience. This includes:
  • Testing of participant webcams to ensure high-quality video capture

  • Sending cameras to participants who do not possess their own webcams

Hands-on technical support

IVP provides a full-time technician to oversee the interviews and serve as a point of contact for technical support. Our staff is fully-trained on all functionality of MobiLAB Online™ and able to assist both participants, moderator and viewers with any questions that might arise.
